Chris Antonio

CIO & Portfolio Manager


Chris began his career on the Pacific Stock Exchange in 1985. He later co-managed the listed securities business for Paine Webber before departing, in 1995, to start his own firm. Chris established the current investment management company, Dipsea Capital, LLC in 2007. From 1995 through present, his clients have never withstood a negative return year. Chris has a passion for research pertaining to the science of consistency. Specific research interests center on the successful cultivation of an elastic mindset, peak performance similarities across multiple disciplines, and processes which encourage consistent, high efficacy decision making. Chris has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California at Davis in Biological Sciences and is a 2024 graduate from the Master of Applied Positive Psychology program at the University of Pennsylvania. 

Eugene Rekhtman

Chief Operating Officer


At Dipsea Capital, Eugene oversees all aspects of the fund’s operations and compliance. Eugene joined Dipsea in July, 2020 and has twelve years of experience in hedge fund operations at two multi-billion dollar hedge funds, a fund administrator, and a consultant. Most recently, Eugene served as an outsourced CFO to private equity and hedge fund managers with investment management consultant Constellation Advisors. In this capacity, he advised both new and established funds on best practices for their reporting functions and back-office operations. Prior to this, Eugene was a senior fund accountant at Passport Capital managing accounting processes for multiple hedge funds, 40 Act funds, and separate accounts. Eugene began his career at hedge fund Parallax Volatility Advisers as a senior fund accountant with additional responsibilities in compliance and operations. Eugene received his bachelor of science in Corporate Finance and Accounting from San Francisco State University.

Cameron Grimes

Senior Trader

Cameron joined Dipsea Capital in July, 2020 after serving six years as a derivatives trader for CMZ Trading, a Chicago proprietary trading firm. He was involved in all aspects of portfolio trading, including identifying and enhancing trading strategies and managing portfolio risk across various market environments. He also provided liquidity as a market maker in index equity options at both the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Board of Options Exchange. Cameron earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from The University of Chicago.

Grant Avalon

Head of Quantitative Strategies


Grant works directly with our CIO as Head of Trading to enhance Dipsea Capital’s systematic strategies by guiding the growth of the firm’s research technology and trade automation. Grant joined Dipsea in 2023, bringing with him expertise in trading fixed income, equity, index and crypto options. He began his career at DRW, a global derivatives trading firm. Here he honed his technology skills writing back-testing software, contributing to the firm’s research codebase in Python and C++. Grant then had success converting quantitative research into tradable actions while making markets in US Treasury and Eurodollar options. He returned to California working with another proprietary options trading firm, where he optimized risk management software, expanded the firm’s research and back-testing capabilities and built software that automated their trading strategies. Grant then applied his financial and technology skills to work with Synquote, a DeFi crypto options exchange building out options pricing, risk management and market making technologies. Grant graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Economics.

 

Nancy LaDieu

Chief Administrative Officer


Nancy joined Dipsea Capital in January, 2024 in the role of Chief Administrative Officer. She brings a unique combination of expertise and strategic vision to the firm from her 25+ years of experience in the financial industry. Nancy assists the Chief Investment Officer on the trading desk during market hours.  She collaborates with the operations and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and supports business development efforts to drive growth and expand the company’s market presence. Before joining Dipsea Capital, Nancy held various positions at prominent investment management firms including Aviva Investors, LGIM America, and Harris Associates. Nancy is an alumna of Purdue University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree.

Jon Matney

Senior Trader


Jon joined Dipsea Capital in June 2024, bringing with him 30+ years of experience in the financial services industry. During his career, Jon has developed trading and risk management expertise in equity and index derivatives, quantitative and proprietary strategies, special situations, and market timing. He began his career with Susquehanna in 1994, interning on the CBOE floor prior to his first trading position on the Pacific Coast Options Exchange in San Francisco.  Jon has held senior trading positions with other firms including Cutler Group, Parallax Volatility Advisors, and Walleye Trading. Jon earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Northwestern University.
